OOAK means "One Of A Kind". It is usually used for costumised dolls (including Reborn Baby Dolls), like barbies, dollfies etc (which are not really completely OOAK''s), and also for art dolls of various materials like polymer clay sculptures. Polymer clay OOAK DOLLS are figurines entirely hand sculptured in polymer clay without the use of any type of moulding (hence it''s "unique") at any stage of the creative process. Each doll is really unique. These sculptures are moulded over a "forming" wire armature and - even if they are very small (the range is from 3 to 13 inches) they are painstakingly detailed: from facial features to nails. There are many many artists who have become "renown" in the world of OOAK "Reborn Baby Dolls" and their work is much sought after and can attain a high asking price for their work. Quality obviously depends upon the artist so it is worth "looking around" and seeing whjat is available, by whom and at what price.
